The messages before say it all, but Derek was genuinely someone who made us feel a part of the family even when we didn't know many people. Every time we saw him he was such a gent. The last time we saw him was I think at Myla and Rowans christening, and that is a fitting way for us to remember him - playing with his grandchildren and with his family in the beautiful church garden, surrounded by flowers and the sun beaming down.
